Going into this whole thing almost a year ago, it would have been easy to have a feeling of hopelessness about returning to running. The problem with that approach was that it would have made each day hard to wake up to. Instead, as I have said in the past, I have tried to remain hopeful and optimistic. While there have been moments where my hope and optimism ebbed, I am certain that this positive approach has been beneficial in speeding up my return to running and a happier life in general. I don’t have a crystal ball to tell me what the future holds, but if my rate of recovery matches that of 2012, than I remain optimistically hopeful for continued improvement.
